Adam Dunkels is an ambitious young entrepreneur from the small Swedish town of Torsby. After studying and working in Sweden, the United States and Finland, he has recently launched a new business venture based in Finland. His new venture, called Seremo, is an automation and analytics startup founded to help businesses make better decisions. Dunkels is no stranger to the tech industry; he has co-founded several small companies, including a mobile app development company and a software-as-a-service integration platform.
Adam Dunkels decided to pursue his entrepreneurial dream in the most unlikely of places — a small town of only 3,000 inhabitants (Torsby). With no Silicon Valley or other major tech hubs nearby, it was a bold move for Dunkels. Nevertheless, he was undeterred and was determined to build a successful business from the ground up.
The first step he took was to secure a place to call home and office space for Seremo. Because his hometown of Torsby did not offer any suitable premises, Dunkels chose to rent a villa near Helsinki in the beautiful region of Uusimaa (Finland). This offered Dunkels the best of both worlds: access to start-up resources and mentorship programs in the business capital of Finland and a unique opportunity to promote the Seremo brand internationally.
Now that the groundwork had been established, Dunkels set out to attract investors and to secure additional funding for Seremo. He applied and was accepted to the Finnish Technology Accelerator, a program that pairs promising early-stage companies with experienced mentors and provides them with networking and investment opportunities.
Furthermore, Dunkels also had the opportunity to apply for several angel investor competitions. These competitions provided him with a platform to showcase his business model and to further consider various forms of funding.
With his application to the accelerator and the angel investor competitions, Dunkels had already made substantial progress and set his business on a course of growth. The next phase of his entrepreneurial journey revolved around tightening operations, developing the product and increasing customer base.
One of the most important aspects of the business was to develop an automation and analytics platform. To this end, Dunkels hired a team of software engineers and began working on the development. After months of hard work, the platform was ready and could be rolled out to customers. Seremo had made progress and Dunkels was ready to take things further and to bring the product to market.
With the product finally ready and the customer base steadily increasing, Dunkels began to focus on marketing his product. He teamed up with investors from Finland and from other countries and set out on a roadshow, pitching to potential investors, customers and partners.
The response to Dunkels’s roadshow was overwhelmingly positive and he raised a significant amount of funding for Seremo. He was now able to hire more staff, upgrade his facilities and take the business to the next level.
At the same time, Dunkels was invited to the Future of Entrepreneurship Conference in Finland and the International Education Conference in Sweden, where he presented his company and interacted with larger corporations and the venture capital community.
Adam Dunkels had come far but he knew that there was still a lot of work to do. In the coming months, he continued to set a strong course for the business and worked towards establishing a presence in international markets.
With his hard work, dedication and bold vision for the Seremo platform, Adam Dunkels has set forth on a remarkable journey. He has seen success in the small town of Torsby, and through his tireless efforts, the company has grown to a larger and more internationally recognized organization. He has put himself in a fantastic position to continue to drive the growth of the business and to contribute to transforming the future of automation and analytics.
