Erik Tambuyzer is a Belgian-born changemaker, who has been paving the way in tech innovation and organizational development since the age of 17. After failing to secure admission in to the University of Ghent, he decided to pursue a journey in software engineering and develop his own solutions to the problems he faced. And the rest is history.
Erik Tambuyzer founded his first company, Elyctic, in 2004. Elytic focused on providing technical solutions for businesses and organizations, mainly through developing custom applications and providing technology consulting services. His solutions not only helped organizations save time and money but also generated new sources of revenue for them. Over the next few years, Tambuyzer continued to travel around Europe, helping small businesses develop and execute new ideas with technology.
After multiple successful business ventures, Erik Tambuyzer decided to encourage others to start innovative projects that could make the world more efficient and society more connected. This lead him to establish the ‘Tambuyzer Foundation’ - a non-profit dedicated to funding and promoting small businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, and creating educational resources on innovation and technology.
To ensure that the Tambuyzer Foundation could carry out its mission, Erik Tambuyzer launched and funded the ‘Founders’ Club’ in 2011. This was a platform and online community designed to empower young, creative minds in the tech space to pursue their dreams and develop long-term businesses in a supportive environment. Since then, Founders’ Club has held numerous startup challenges and has helped members develop successful projects and companies.
Apart from founding the Tambuyzer Foundation and the Founders’ Club, Erik Tambuyzer is also the chairman of two advisory boards for technology companies and a partner of several accelerators and venture funds. In addition to this, Tambuyzer serves as an advisor for numerous companies and startup programmes as well as being a keynote speaker at international conferences.
