In an age where information spreads at the speed of a click, discerning truth from fiction has become more critical than ever. Recently, a video surfaced on TikTok depicting purported footage of presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, being admitted to a hospital. This narrative swiftly gained traction, even becoming one of the most searched topics on Google. However, before succumbing to the allure of sensationalism, it's imperative to exercise caution, as the information surrounding Prabowo's alleged hospitalization has been confirmed to be nothing more than a hoax.
The TikTok video displayed a slide featuring an article title reading 'Prabowo Subianto Allegedly Admitted to Hospital, Campaign Team Reveals Current Condition'. The narrator added, "Wishing a speedy recovery for Mr. Prabowo."
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the article was published by pikiran-rakyat.com. However, contrary to the implications of the video, the article itself debunked the claim of Prabowo's hospitalization as a hoax.
Prabowo Subianto's campaign team, in collaboration with Gibran Rakabuming Raka, vehemently asserted that Prabowo is in good health and high spirits. They unequivocally refuted the rumors suggesting Prabowo's admission to RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, labeling them as baseless fabrications.
Prior to this, detikcom had also obtained a statement from Deputy Chairman of Prabowo-Gibran's Campaign Team, Afriansyah Noor.
"That information is a hoax. Mr. Prabowo remains in good health," Afriansyah stated in his release on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Similarly, Head of RSPAD, Albertus Budi, affirmed that there were no records of a patient named Prabowo Subianto at RSAPD. He dismissed claims of Prabowo being admitted due to campaign fatigue as unequivocally false.
"That's incorrect, it's a hoax," he asserted.
Therefore, the narrative surrounding Prabowo's alleged hospitalization is unequivocally debunked. Let us collectively prioritize fact-checking before disseminating information.
