Samsung has confirmed the imminent arrival of its new Galaxy A series smartphones set to release this month. While the exact identities of the devices remain shrouded in mystery, several clues point towards the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55.
The latest Galaxy A series came to light through a registration page on Samsung India's official website. The page reveals that the new Galaxy A series will be announced on March 11, 2024, at 14:30 local time.
Apart from announcing the launch date, Samsung's teaser page also showcases a myriad of standout features that the upcoming mid-range smartphones will boast.
One teaser shared by Samsung displays a purple-colored phone with three rear cameras and a 'Key Island' design, where the power and volume buttons are elevated from the phone's surface. It appears that Key Island is set to be a flagship feature for the Galaxy A series, as it has previously been featured in the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25 models.
Samsung's teaser also highlights the low-light photography capabilities of the new Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A55 is rumored to feature a 50 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, and a 5 MP macro camera. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 is predicted to sport a 50 MP primary camera as well.
Samsung has also assured that its latest phones will receive Android OS updates up to four times and security updates for up to five years. It seems that the seven-year OS update policy is an exclusive feature reserved for Samsung flagship phones.
The new Samsung phones are also set to deliver swift gaming performance, although the specific chipset used has not been disclosed. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy A55 will be powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset, while the Galaxy A35 will feature the Exynos 1380.
Samsung's teaser also hints that both the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 will feature water resistance ratings and cyber security protection from Knox Security, as reported by Android Authority on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
The release date for the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 in Indonesia is yet to be announced. However, both devices have been certified by the TKDN (Telecommunications Device National Standardization) since February xhr onload.
